“The Confusion of Neomysticism”

I’ve had my paper proposal accepted for the Mormon Scholars and the Humanities conference on “The Mystical.”  My paper is on “The Confusion of Neomysticism,” in which I argue that what most people call mysticism today is an entirely new invention of the twentieth century, having little to do with traditional forms of mysticism to which it claims to be related.

The conference will be held at BYU on 15-16 March.  I’ll post the details about the conference when they are announced.

This post http://www.mormonscholars.net/announcements/untitledpost has the conference scheduled for 15-16 March. Is that correct? Either way, it sounds fascinating.

  3. You’re right. I’ve corrected my typo. Thanks for the correction.
