I have often thought that if the thought of Heraclitus had been more popularly accepted than that of Parmenides and then Plato, there might not have been an apostasy in the early church, because his views would have been incorporated into early Christianity instead of those of the Neoplatonists. Western civilization would have been drastically different than it is now.
