I’ll be traveling to Ireland this May to attend a conference on “The Other Temple” sponsored by Hekhal: The Irish Society for the Study of the Ancient Near East. I will be presenting a paper on “The Temple in the Qur’ān.” Needless to say, I’m stoked! I’ve never been to Ireland before.

A Mormon student was caught in the cross-fire of a gang shooting today. He was shot in the back, but fortunately was wearing a backpack containing a Book of Mormon. The bullet penetrated the book, but did injure the man. It was stopped by the Isaiah chapters.

There is a new academically oriented LDS publisher, Salt Press.
They have three new books coming out on the Book of Mormon. I haven’t seen them yet, but you can review them on their web page. They seem like they will be interesting.
